The Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) is a $350M investment from the Government of Canada to support charities and non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations as they manage the impacts of COVID-19.
In collaboration with the Canadian Red Cross and United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada is proud to be funding projects designed to help communities experiencing heightened vulnerability during the COVID-19 crisis. The global pandemic has left no community untouched. It is also exacerbating existing inequalities and having a disproportionate impact in communities who are less equipped to deal with its health, social and economic impacts
Starting October 5th, the final installment of the $350 million Fund is being released by the federal government to CFC, the Canadian Red Cross and United Way Centraide Canada so that we can continue to flow support to charities and non-profit organizations serving our most vulnerable. CFC and participating community foundations are now accepting applications. Please see the resource library below for more information including the Applicant Guide.
**Applicants who received ECSF funding in Round 1 can submit an application in Round 2 for project costs which were not funded in Round 1. Applicants cannot receive funding twice for the same project costs. Applicants must submit a budget to identify new eligible costs.
In the case of a project continuation – If the continuation of the project includes new project costs (for example, additional gift cards to continue the project), then they can submit a new application indicating which expenses are new/different from R1.**
