Environment

Lauren Maris, formerly an employee of the Alberta oil patch, followed her dream of helping people live more environmentally responsible lifestyles by writing and selling more than a thousand copies of “Live Green, Calgary!”, a guide to help individuals make positive environmental change. Over the past 11 years, Lauren has designed and delivered hands-on environmental programs to thousands of Red Deerians, who have learned to backyard compost, become idle free, and reduce energy use. She volunteers with her community association and Michener Services, and spent last summer nature scaping her front yard. Lauren is dedicated, passionate, and always willing to share her knowledge to support others in environmental stewardship.
