Communications & Stewardship Coordinator

(.5 FTP)

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Communications & Stewardship Coordinator will:

  • Support the implementation of the strategic and fund development plans
  • Implement the stewardship matrix, as appropriate
  • Coordinate and facilitate the involvement of the Executive Director and the Board in stewardship activities
  • Convey the Foundation’s many stories of impact, purpose and partnership
  • Coordinate the fundraising and stewardship content creation for website, social media, and traditional platforms to effectively promote the Foundation’s funds, partnership opportunities, and donor engagement

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Increase number of personally meaningful touch points with the Foundation’s donors, including personalized fund reports
  • Create a calendar of communications activities to include:
    • Newsletters
    • Fund reports
    • Social media posts
    • Foundation blog
    • Program profile segments
    • Monthly stories to pitch
    • Donor recognition stories
    • Board reporting
  • Support the development and implementation of a Legacy Circle, as part of a planned giving program
  • Assist with the development of fundraising and stewardship publications, including creation of donor profiles and fundraising impact stories
  • Lead the planning and delivery of donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition events
  • Assist with material preparation and customization for donor and partner cultivation meetings
  • Develop prospecting processes to help identify individuals, corporations and agencies with philanthropic capacity
  • Export constituent data to generate reports and lists for stewardship and reporting materials
  • Provide administrative support for the fund development plan implementation
  • Develop a monthly overview of fund development activities including Executive Director’s interaction with donors and partners to share with Board
  • Ensure that donors receive timely and accurate responses
  • Measure donor retention year over year

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Understands and has relevant experience in donor relations and management
  • Must be capable of working in an integrated, diverse, team environment
  • Possess extensive communications experience
  • Computer proficiency required, i.e., Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel; an understanding of relational databases (Community Suite);
  • Attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Adheres to deadlines to ensure timely completion of multiple simultaneous tasks and projects
